New grinder burrs reach optimal performance once they've had about 5-10kg of coffee put through them. Rather than waste perfectly good beans that don't meet our retail standards, we're giving them a second life as burr seasoning material at deep discounts.
These beans failed our quality standards due to roasting faults, green coffee defects, aged green stock, or other technical issues, making them unsuitable for brewing but perfect for breaking in new equipment.
